Dietitians Week, organised by the BDA, is running the week commencing 9th June 2014 and, in addition to events being organised by the BDA, BDA members are running well in excess of 100 individual events around the UK from the tip of the country in Devon to the Isles of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides (in addition to events happening around the globe)! Dietitians Week is the world’s first awareness week that profiles to work and value of dietitians. A full list of Dietitians Week events can be found here.

The BDA, founded in 1936, is the professional association for registered dietitians in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is the nation’s largest organisation of food and nutrition professionals with over 7,000 members.
The BDA and #RDUK will be partnering during Dietitians Week to cover the following subjects:

Date: Monday 9 June 2014 Tuesday 10 June 2014 Thursday 12 June 2014
Time: 1pm – 2pm 8pm – 9pm 8pm – 9pm
Subject: Meat Free Mondays The Fat Debate Nutrition Secrets

Speaking about their involvement in Dietitians Week, #RDUK co-founder and Twitter chat moderator, Emma Carder, said:

“#RDUK is proud to support and participate in the first ever Dietitians Week. The work and value of dietitians is so important and it is our pleasure to help promote this message to the wider public by hosting three special Twitter chats during the awareness week.”

Adding her voice of support, Sian Porter, Chairman of the BDA’s Communications Board added:

“With so many people online claiming to be ‘experts’ in the field of food and nutrition, it is vital that people have a point of contact where they know that information being given out and promoted is credible, evidenced-based and based on solid scientific research, as opposed to personal opinions and people trying to sell you all kinds of products. #RDUK is that credible point of contact. They are the real deal!”
